Post-Project funding

Applications for funding under round 18 of the Darwin initiative were announced on 8th April 2011. This call for funding is for Main Projects and Post Projects. A further call for funding under the other schemes (Scoping Awards, Fellowships and OT Challenge Fund) is expected in autumn 2011.

The Darwin Initiative offers post-project funding to a small number of successful Darwin Initiative projects, in order to maximise the results of these projects and strengthen their long-term impact and legacy.

Selected projects will receive funding for additional work for up to two years after the original project has been completed. Funding will be considered where additional and lasting impacts are likely from further embedding or consolidating the results of a successful and completed Darwin project. It will not be provided for project slippage.

Applications

Defra is now inviting applications from UK institutions and organisations in the UK Overseas Territories for support for Main projects to commence from 1 April 2012 and for Post Projects to commence from 1 October 2011. There will be up to £9m available for this new round. New guidance notes and application forms are available here. If you have difficulty accessing the information and forms, please contact Darwin Applications at LTS International. The documents can also be made available in large print on request.

Application documents

Note that you should also read the guidance notes for main project funding - available in PDF format.
