Darwin Initiative

The Darwin Initiative assists countries that are rich in biodiversity but poor in financial resources to implement the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) through the funding of collaborative projects which draw on UK biodiversity expertise.

This website provides access to information about the projects funded under the Initiative, as well as resources for Darwin Projects, and for those interested in applying for funding.

The Darwin Initiative has funded 602 projects to date, partnering with 764 organisations in host countries, and 197 UK organisations. You can find out more about individual projects using the navigation and search tools on the right hand side of the page.

Projects also produce a range of documents, which are available through this website (currently 1965 documents are available for download). These include annual reports, training manuals, scientific articles, management plans, databases, taxonomic keys, and many others. Use the search tools to identify resources of interest.
