Assigning search categories to projects

Assigning search categories (or tags) is limited for projects completed before 2008 and has been restricted to significant contributions to CBD Articles as reported by projects.

However, work is ongoing to provide a much richer set of categories, so check back periodically to monitor progress. Advances in this work will be indicated by further additions to the project menu (above), and additional search fields in the projects and documents search forms.

Darwin Initiative

The Darwin Initiative assists countries that are rich in biodiversity but poor in financial resources to implement the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) through the funding of collaborative projects which draw on UK biodiversity expertise.

This website provides access to information about the projects funded under the Initiative, as well as resources for Darwin Projects, and for those interested in applying for funding.

The Darwin Initiative has funded 601 projects to date, partnering with 759 organisations in host countries, and 198 UK organisations. You can find out more about individual projects using the navigation and search tools on the right hand side of the page.

Projects also produce a range of documents, which are available through this website (currently 1801 documents are available for download). These include annual reports, training manuals, scientific articles, management plans, databases, taxonomic keys, and many others. Use the search tools to identify resources of interest.
