Scoping Awards and Fellowships announced

A total of £185,000 in awards to fund new projects under the Darwin Initiative for Scoping and Fellowship awards 2007/08, were announced today.

£57,828 has been awarded in scoping project grants for one-off funding for travel costs to a host country to enable UK institutions to develop a Darwin project application in collaboration with host country partners.

Six Fellowship grants totalling £127,426 have also been awarded which will give members of recent and current Darwin Initiative projects from countries rich in biodiversity but poor in financial resources the opportunity to broaden their skills in biodiversity.
